Mark your calendars for an exciting evening at Al Qudra Desert on October 19th, from 6 PM to 11 PM, as we gather to observe Comet C/2023 A3, a stunning visitor from the far reaches of our solar system.
Comet C/2023 A3, discovered earlier this year, has captivated the astronomy community. As it travels through the inner solar system at an astonishing speed of 180,610 miles per hour (290,664 kilometers per hour), it is expected to light up the night sky during October. The comet made its closest approach to the Sun on September 27, 2024, and is now gradually becoming visible again in the evening sky. While unpredictable in nature, comets like C/2023 A3 offer a unique opportunity for skywatchers to witness the splendor of our solar system.

- 6:30 – 7:30 PM – Comet Observation (the comet will be setting so be sure to arrive on time)
- 7:45 PM – Details of Comets and Comet C/2023
- 8:15 PM – QnA
- 8:30 PM – Telescope Observation & Astrophotography
- 9:30 PM – Stargazing and Orionids Meteor Shower
- 10:00 PM – Telescope Observation and Stargazing
- 11:00 PM – End of event

Public bathrooms are at Al Qudra Last Exit, a 10-mins drive away from the event location.

Although we will be providing mats and water, you are requested to carry any necessities you might deem necessary over the period of the event (snacks, seats, etc.) for your comfort.

Phone Photography Notice
Due to the high number of attendees and the short visibility window of the comet, phone photography through the telescopes won’t be allowed. Instead, we’ll capture high-quality images and share them with you via email after the event.
