A partial solar eclipse is a rare event that occurs when the Moon comes between the Sun and Earth, but the Moon only partially covers the Sun’s disk.
During a partial solar eclipse, the Moon, the Sun, and Earth don’t align in a perfectly straight line, and the Moon casts only the outer part of its shadow, the penumbra, on Earth. From our perspective, this looks like the Moon has taken a bite out of the Sun.

Important Information
Masks are mandatory
All attendees are requested to have masks on when interacting with others.
Maintain Social Distancing
Social distancing must be practiced at all times.
This is an Outdoors Event
The event is completely outdoors, so please prepare accordingly.
Water and Mats will be provided
We will be providing water and mats but you’re free to bring your own.
Nol Card required to enter Mushrif Park
Entry inside Mushrif Park is AED 10 per car through Nol Card.
Nol Card Purchase/Recharge
You can purchase/recharge your already existing Nol Card at the park gate.
Restrooms/bathrooms are available in the park
The closest washrooms are HERE. Please prepare accordingly.
Observing the Eclipse
Telescopes will be set up to observe the eclipse, but the best view is through solar eclipse glasses.
Eclipse Glasses
Solar eclipse glasses will be provided to all participants.
Please bring a soft copy of the event ticket Email
Please bring a soft copy (on your phone) of the event ticket that contains a QR code to ensure a smooth check-in process.
You're requested to bring along your Emirates ID
You are requested to bring any form of identification with you to be presented at the venue upon request.
DAG Members are requested to bring ID
DAG paid members are requested to bring their digital membership card to be presented upon request.
Kids under the age of 5 don't require a ticket
We don’t recommend bringing kids under the age of 5 to our events.
You MUST use Eclipse Glasses to observe the sun
DON’T ever look at the Sun without proper eye protection.
Kids under 13 need to be accompanied by a parent
Kids under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent. Parents are required to purchase a ticket.
No pets are allowed
Pets are not allowed at our events and activities.
